Ted Batkin, Founder & President: Ted Batkin, a fourth generation California grower with extensive experience in association management as well as production agriculture. Ted retired in 2013 as President of the California Citrus Research Board, a post held since August 1993 and has devoted his time since then to continue the research programs started through the various research programs he managed. These projects include work in plant disease management and detection using remote sensing systems, development of new tools for insect detection and control, and products that will enhance the health of trees and plants to prevent diseases. In addition, he chaired the National Citrus Research Council for fifteen years.
Bo Garrett, Founder & CEO: Bo Garrett has over thirty years of experience in nearly all facets of business development. He has served as an attorney for over twenty-five years following his graduation from Emory Law School in 1979. His areas of expertise include business organization, consulting and management, real estate syndication and development, and construction management. Mr. Garrett is currently a principal in Hilliard-Bender, LLC, a firm that owns and operates oil and gas leases in the southwest United States. He holds a degree in chemistry from Duke University and a JD from Emory University. Bo is a former captain and pilot in the USAF with over 100 combat missions in Viet Nam.
Cristina Davis, Founder & Chief Science Advisor: Dr. Davis is currently a Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of California, Davis. Her main research interests are in chemical and biological sensing applications, use of technology to speed biomarker discovery, novel bioMEMS devices, and bioinformatics interpretation of sensor output. Dr. Davis earned her B.S. in Mathematics and Biology from Duke University in 1994, her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Virginia in 1999 and completed her Postdoctoral Fellowship in Electrical Engineering and Physiology at Johns Hopkins University in 2001. In addition to her role as professor, Dr. Davis is currently a Participating Guest Researcher, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and a Supernumerary Professor, external adjunct appointment, Universidad de Nevarra (San Sebastián, Spain). Dr. Davis has previously served as Visiting Professor, École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (Lausanne, Switzerland), Senior Scientist, Molecular Devices Corporation (Epalinges, Switzerland) among others. Dr. Davis is also the recipient of numerous international awards and recognitions of her work.
